| Welcome to workshop page where project work and maintenance are carried out. |
The Triumph Sprint ST is my most recent bike and is powered by a inline triple 1050cc engine designed and build by Triumph in Hinckley, Leicestershire! Triumph Sprint ST 1050 Specifcations |
| TomTom Rider the bikers navigator, this unit comes with all the accessories needed for bike navigation, the unit is waterproof and rugged enough for everyday use. The unit comes with a Ram mount which fits to the handle bars or attaches to the Clutch lever bracket, instead of using the supplied bracket, I opted for the more custom type from Telferizer . http://www.telferizer.co.uk/ |
Using the Custom Ram mount allows you to position the SATNAV in the centre of the bikes dash which makes the complete set up look much better and more user friendly, the unit also comes with a Cardo Scala Rider headset which is Bluetooth, the whole set up seems to work well and planning the literary before the days ride is a doddle. |
Triumph luggage is now included when you by a new Triumph Sprint ST, I decided to stick with my Givi luggage I already had and the reasons why were clear from the start, I wanted a set of panniers I could fit to more than one bike and space was also an issue. |
To fit Givi luggage to a Sprint ST requires the Givi rack for the top box and frame for the side panniers, Givi decided not to use the Wingrack because they wanted to keep the bikes profile look, I personally think they've done quite a good job in keeping the side pannier framework to the minimum, before you start work on the Givi racks remove the indicators and prepare to extend the wiring so you can fit the indicators to the Givi side panniers frame. |
Fitting the Givi racks to the Sprint ST is easy as all instructions are provided; the only difficulty you may encounter is re-wiring the indicators which unfortunately a kit is not provided for, this means you're forced to buy individual parts to complete the job. |
On the Sprint ST there are tapped holes on the side and under side of the grab rail which are covered over by plastic plugs; these can be removed simply by unscrewing them using your thumb. |
Once you have the Givi racks in placed and secured you're than left with the task of fitting the indicators to the Givi frame, the indicates fit on easily in the new position but a soldering iron, heat shink and crimps are required to complete the job professionally, my view is a small indicator kit provided by Givi would make the fitting less hassle and should be included! |
Once the boxes are fitted the road testing proved the system work well, the bikes handling was pretty much unaffected for touring and the engine torque from the Sprint ST proved unstoppable with the luggage fully loaded. |
